Values Clarification
Take your time working through the list and notice which values really stand out to you. There are no right or wrong answers this is simply about identifying what matters most to you.
One thing to keep in mind is that values are different from goals. Goals are things we can achieve, complete, or tick off a list. Values, on the other hand, are ongoing ways of being and behaving. They describe the kind of person you want to be and how you want to treat yourself, others, and the world around you.
Once you've finished, see if you can narrow your list down to your top three to five values. It can also be helpful to complete this exercise with a trusted family member or friend and talk about why you've chosen the values that are most important to you.
Please bring your completed list to our next session so we can explore what these values might look like in your everyday life and identify small, meaningful actions that move you in their direction.
